Known for his expressive use of color, gestural brushwork, and emotionally charged compositions, Stephens' paintings explore the tension between abstraction and representation. His dynamic surfaces reveal a deep engagement with process and intuition, resulting in works that resonate with both personal introspection and universal human experience. Rooted in a lifelong dedication to painting, Stephens' practice reflects the evolution of an artist who continually pushes the boundaries of visual language. This exhibition brings together a selection of current and past works that highlight the artist's ability to distill complex emotions into powerful, atmospheric imagery. As both a respected member of Sarasota's creative community and a proud Ringling graduate, Stephens exemplifies the enduring impact of the College's alumni, contributing meaningfully to the region's vibrant cultural landscape.

This historical group exhibition revisits the creative legacy of the Sarasota Colony—a vibrant and visionary community of artists who helped shape the region's post-war cultural identity and laid the groundwork for Sarasota's emergence as a thriving arts destination. Drawn to the Gulf Coast for its climate, light, and Ringling School of Art, these painters, printmakers, and educators established studios, taught classes, and exhibited widely, fostering a collaborative spirit that flourished between 1945 and 1965. Origins is a visual tribute to this remarkable era—highlighting the innovation, camaraderie, and enduring influence of the colony's members. FEATURED ARTISTS INCLUDE: Syd Solomon, Helen Sawyer, Elden Rowland, Shirley Clement, George Kaiser, Martha and William Hartman, Judy Axe, Robert Chase, Jerry Farnsworth, Harold Slingerland, Al Parker, Hilton and Dorothy Leech, Eugene White, Loran Wilford, Ben Stahl, Sidney Laufman, Thornton Utz, Glenna Finch, Roy Nichols, Nike Parton, Robert Larsen, and more. Puccini's most beloved opera and one of the most performed in the repertoire, La bohème takes us through the streets of the Latin Quarter in 19th century Paris when the poor embroideress Mimì has a fateful chance encounter with the poet Rodolfo. Laugh and cry as a group of friends struggle and celebrate through the Bohemian lifestyle and experience the heartbreak of a lover's impending demise.

Audiences are invited to step within and beyond our world with The AmeriCosmos Experience. This 75-minute immersive event is a masterclass in cinematic storytelling by Matt Venuti, blending live-looping, rare and captivating electronic and acoustic instruments, and breathtaking video projections. The visual narrative travels from the remote, majestic terrains of the United States—filmed by Venuti himself during his extensive touring and National Park residencies—to the deep reaches of Space, featuring stunning imagery from NASA and the James Webb Telescope. "This isn't just a concert; it's a multi-sensory experience," says Venuti, "designed to lead my audience into the realization of our connectiveness to nature, to each other, and to the cosmos".   Doors open at 6:30pm. Ask a 4th grader: "What do you want to be when you grow up?" You'll get a lot of interesting answers! Project TEACH is a partnership between the Manatee Chamber of Commerce and the School District of Manatee County designed to help students explore careers and learn more about local businesses.  The Manatee Chamber will send more than 150 business volunteers into 4th grade classrooms on Thursday, March 12. Volunteers will be needed from 7:00 AM to 10:00 AM. For many students, this is one of the first times they have had a business volunteer in their classroom! Volunteering is easy and fun! We supply the curriculum and materials. You bring your enthusiasm and experience (and 25 business cards).  You'll start your time in the classroom with an interactive "guessing game" based on first impressions. One thing the students will try to guess about you is "What is my job?" It's a great segue into talking about your job and the career path you have travelled. You then shift with the students into an activity that helps the student design a business card for what they want to be when they grow up. There is then a fun time of sharing their ideas and business cards. ​It's easy, it's fun, and you will get as much out of the activity as the kids do while they learn about your job and company.  Questions? Chris Fogt, a native of Orange Park, Florida, is an Eagle Scout, and is currently the head coach of USA Olympic Bobsled Team. He competed at three Olympics, and won a Silver medal in the 4-man event at the 2014 Games in Sochi, Russia. He is also an officer in the United States Army, having deployed to Iraq shortly after the Vancouver Olympics. He doesn't see Scouting as something from his past. It's part of his present and future, too. That's why, somehow, Fogt makes time to be an adult volunteer. While stationed at Fort Hood, Fogt served as an assistant Scoutmaster with Troop 239 of the Longhorn Council. "Scouting helped me find my voice and shape the man I am now," he says. "I really enjoyed those weekends where I got to go out and do Scouting stuff." The Million Dollar Day for Scouting is about celebrating the positive effects the Scouting Movement is having in our communities. We anticipate that over 500 business & civic leaders will attend this prestigious event where we will share the positive impact of Scouting's values-laden programs. The event takes place rain or shine from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Bradenton Riverwalk Pavilion at Rossi Park (452 3rd Avenue West). On-site registration opens at 9:00 a.m., with the 1.5-mile walk beginning at 10:00 a.m. After the walk, attendees can enjoy music, food trucks, raffle prizes, family-friendly activities, and the popular Vendor Village, featuring local businesses and nonprofit organizations offering pet-related products, services, and educational resources. HSMC will also bring a select group of adoptable dogs for attendees interested in adoption. University Park Country Club is proud to present the 26th annual Art in the Park, one of the longest-running fine art exhibits and sales in the Sarasota/Bradenton region. Open to the public on March 14–15, 2026, this celebrated event will showcase more than 60 professional and non-professional artists and over 150 works of art. Visitors will enjoy an exceptional variety of mediums, including large and small-scale paintings, mixed media, photography, sculpture, prints, and note cards. Most pieces will be available for purchase. Last year's milestone 25th anniversary event was a dazzling success and was praised for its impressive breadth of fine art, attracting almost 1,000 visitors in 2025. Announcing the 2026 Run Manatee 5K Series Presented by RWP Runs! After a sold-out first season, the Run Manatee events team has planned a new set of 5K races taking place throughout 2026—one in the Spring, Summer and Fall, each at a scenic park, beach or preserve—giving you a chance to explore beautiful Manatee County on the run!
