While Florida offers fun in the sun year-round, Memorial Day marks the official launch of summer. Our real estate agents share some of the top holiday events and activities taking place around Bradenton homes for sale and Sarasota homes for sale.

Enjoy stunning waterfront views and first-class dining at Marina Jack. Start out with one of their creative specialty cocktails before an upscale dinner of bourbon maple pork chops, braised boneless short ribs, or Marina Jack's signature bouillabaisse. Local violinist Matt Dendy provides musical entertainment during dinner hours from 5 p.m. - 9 p.m. on Monday, 5/26.
Clancy's Texas Hold'em - Clancy's Irish Pub & Grill, 6218 Cortez Rd. W., Bradenton, FL 34210
Feeling lucky? You just might hit it big during a game of Clancy's Texas Hold'em. It's a great place to hang out with friends and make new ones, so everyone comes out a winner. Pop culture fans can also test their knowledge during Trivia Night. Take a break and grab a drink at the outdoor Freaki Tiki bar. Clancy's Monday hours are 11:30 a.m. - midnight, and both contests begin at 6 p.m.
10th Annual Memorial Day 5K Hike - JD Hamel Park, 199 Bayfront Dr., Sarasota, FL 34236
Honor the men and women of the Armed Forces when you participate in the 10th Annual Memorial Day 5K Hike. The family-friendly event kicks off at 9 a.m. on Saturday, 5/24, with a hike that begins at JD Hamel Park and crosses the Ringling Bridge before circling back. Then the rest of the day is devoted to a cookout, musical entertainment, and kids' activities. Tickets are $35 in advance and $40 day of the event, with all proceeds going to SRQ Vets, a non-profit that provides resources to local veterans and their families.
St. Armands Fine Art Festival - 434 St. Armands Circle, Sarasota, FL 34236
Summer is a season of festivals, and the St. Armands Fine Art Festival is back for a fourth year. Local and national artisans gather to create an outdoor gallery against the scenic backdrop of St. Armands Circle, known as the "Jewel of Sarasota." Find a unique gift for a friend, family member, or yourself among works in a variety of mediums, ranging from painting and sculpture to photography and woodworking. The festival is scheduled for Saturday, 5/24, and Sunday, 5/25. Hours are 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. both days, and admission is free.
Memorial Day Parade - 1819 Main St., Sarasota, FL 34236
The holiday celebration wouldn't be complete without Sarasota's popular Memorial Day Parade. Beginning at 10 a.m. on Monday, 5/26, assembled members of law enforcement agencies, veterans' groups, and other organizations will proceed down Main Street to JD Hamel Park for a ceremony that includes a keynote speaker. Admission is free.
